Hillary Malone is the Home and School Visitor for the District and has been with Tulpehocken since 2007. Hillary was born and raised in Berks County and returned to the area after college to start her career and family. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Shippensburg University and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh. Hillary became a Licensed Social Worker in 2000 and went on to obtain her Home and School Visitor Certification through PDE in 2007. Prior to entering into the public education sector, Hillary worked for 8 years at a private non-profit behavioral health rehabilitation agency in Berks County providing in-home mental health and drug and alcohol counseling services to at-risk children/adolescents and their families. At Tulpehocken, Hillary works with students at the Jr/Sr High School level to provide direct social skills instruction via small group sessions. Hillary also sits on both the Jr. and Sr. High Student Assistance Program (SAP) teams. She assists school counselors, administrators and faculty in triaging students’ needs and assisting the youth and their families to access appropriate school and community-based support services in order to eliminate barriers to academic success.
