Summer School Dates:
8 week 1 credit courses June 20 – August 17; 4 week 0.5 credit course June 20 - July 20 OR July 23 - August 17
Student can access courses any time (24-7). Time commitment is approximately 90 minutes/day Monday through Friday completing weekly assignments, working on projects, and participating in online discussions. If students are unable to log in on a particular day, students must contact their VHS teacher using their "Private Topic" within their course.
The Summer School courses are online and part of the Virtual High School Program. They have been made available to students who want to get ahead or are looking for enrichment over the summer. The summer courses will use Desire2Learn learning management software, using VHS (non-Tulpehocken) teachers.
Students/Parents will be emailed their username and log in prior to the course start date. Parents are responsible for all fees associated with taking a VHS enrichment class. Parents must register and pay for the class on the VHS website
. TASD is not funding these classes. Parents must also submit a summer enrichment form prior to June 16. Prior approval to take these courses must be sought in order for credit to be granted by TASD. TASD is not responsible for refunds of payment for courses not pre-approved
. VHS has a refund policy
and parents must work with VHS if a refund is requested.
Parents will be sent information by VHS on how to monitor student progress. Parents must provide reliable internet access (dial up access will not be sufficient) and a computer (NOTE: mobile devices such as iPads, iPhones, or Android devices cannot
be used to submit assignments) that meets the minimum requirements for VHS courses (see these requirements

Physical Education 1, Physical Education 2, PreCalculus: Functions, Planning for College, Solar Energy Design, Study Skills+ : Organization of Information; Study Skills+: Class Organization and Time Management, US History: Colonial America - 1877; US History: 1877-Present, Your Brain: An Introduction to Neuroscience. 1 credit:
PreCalculus, Algebra 2, English 9, English 11, English 12, Geometry, Chemistry, World History: 1450-Present.
Please note: TASD will not approve the following VHS enrichment courses due to Keystone exams for the course: Algebra 1, Biology, English 1.
Additionally Government, PreAlgebra and Mission to the International Space Station can be taken for enrichment purposes but will not be approved towards any TASD graduation credit.
