Hi, my name is Diane Bidelspach and I am the Autistic Support Teacher here at Tulpehocken. Here is a little info about me:
I grew up on Long Island, NY. I graduated from Wilkes University with a B.A. in Psychology. I started my teaching career at a special education preschool in Brooklyn, NY. While working I went to school at night to obtain my Master's Degree in Special Education at CUNY-Queens College. During this time I changed schools and began teaching bilingual preschool special education in Corona, NY. To further my education I enrolled in the bilingual teacher certification program at Queens College. While in this program the opportunity to move to PA arose and my family and I took it.
We moved to Myerstown, PA in November of 2001. I primarily stayed home with my three children up until 2011. During this time I taught preschool at the Lebanon YMCA, part-time, for 5 years as I missed being in a classroom and my children were able to go to work with me :)
In October of 2011, I was fortunate enough to obtain a long term sub position here at Tulpehocken. Luckily it turned into a full time position!! I love working here at Tulpy and love working at the Jr/Sr high school level! It was a big change for me, but a challenge that I openly accepted and wouldn't change for the world! I continue to grow and learn every day and I hope my students do as well!!
During non school hours you can usually find me around Myerstown and Lebanon/Lancaster County going to various games/events for my three children, needless to say, we are always busy and on the run :)
