Criteria for Hall of Fame Nomination

The Tulpehocken Area School District celebrates the accomplishments of outstanding alumni who make substantial contributions to their chosen profession. These contributions demonstrate leadership and are recognized as being beneficial to the nominee’s community.

Nominations for the hall of fame may be made by anyone. Submission will be done through an application process that includes data, citing most notable professional accomplishments; awards; recognitions; education; community service; and significant contributions made to society. They will be reviewed on an annual basis. A committee from the Tulpehocken School District will make the final selection of no more than three recipients. Criteria for nomination are: graduate of the Tulpehocken Area School District, graduated at least ten years prior to nomination, given time to enhance their profession, and demonstrate leadership, citizenship, and volunteerism. There shall not be a minimum number of selections.

To receive the Alumni Hall of Fame Award the recipient must meet the following criteria:

  1. Graduated from Tulpehocken Area School District for a minimum of at least ten years
  2. Given time, effort, and talent for the enhancement of his/her society and chosen profession. A graduate that goes above and beyond the normal standards.
  3. Demonstrated leadership and high standards in his/her profession
  4. Demonstrated commendable citizenship & demonstrated a willingness to volunteer in the community


Any person nominated, but not selected for induction into the Academic Hall of Fame during the year of nomination, will have their nomination kept on file to be reviewed annually for possible induction in the future. Nomination period will close each year on first Friday of September.

To nominate individuals for the Tulpehocken Area School District Academic Alumni Hall of Fame, mail the information to Tulpehocken Area District Office, Attention: Alumni Hall of Fame, c/o Mimi Shade, 27 Rehrersburg Rd., Bethel, PA 19507. Please provide the individual’s name, year of graduation, career position, and current contact information. Nominations must be submitted by the first Friday of September to be considered for the current school year.

Nominees will be sent an application, Academic Alumni Hall of Fame Information Questionnaire, which must be submitted to the selection committee or completed online by the end of the third week in September to be considered for the award. The Awards Selection Committee will review the nominations and select the winners. The decision of the Awards Selection Committee is final. Names may be revoked from the Tulpehocken Academic Alumni Hall of Fame if inductee is found in violation of award criteria now or in the future. Inductees will receive a plaque. Inductees’ name and year of graduation will be added on an Academic Alumni Hall of Fame plaque displayed at Tulpehocken Jr/Sr High School.
