The Tulpehocken Junior-Senior Social Studies department consists of six excellent
educators who have a combined 150 years of educational experience. Our department is currently re-writing our curriculum so that it is aligned to the new Common Core standards and Keystone exams that are being released by the state of Pennsylvania. The social studies curriculum includes World History, United States History, World Cultures, Civics, Economics, and various electives such as Sociology, and Psychology.  We offer students the ability to earn advanced college credit through our two advanced placement courses in United States History and Government and Politics. Our staff strives to make our program relevant to the students’ lives in this ever-changing world. We believe that George Santayana said it best, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” Our staff teaches the students about the past and relates this information to their present lives so that they can be productive and successful citizens in society.
