What is Title I?

Title I is a federally funded program designed to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach proficiency on state academic standards.

As a Schoolwide Title I School, Penn-Bernville Elementary School uses Title I funds to support all students by strengthening our overall educational program.

Each year, we hold an Annual Title I Meeting to:

  • Explain the Title I program and funding

  • Review parents’ rights

  • Share school goals and expectations

📬 Parents’ Right to Know

As a parent of a child at a Title I school, you have the right to request information about the qualifications of your child’s teachers and paraprofessionals.

You may also request information regarding:

  • Whether your child’s teacher meets state certification requirements

  • Whether your child is provided services by paraprofessionals

To request this information, please contact the school office.

📈 Assessment & Academic Information

We use a variety of assessments to monitor student progress, including:

  • State assessments (PSSA)

  • Benchmark and classroom assessments

Families will receive regular updates on their child’s progress and can contact teachers at any time with questions.

🧑‍🏫 Staff Qualifications

All teachers and paraprofessionals at Penn-Bernville Elementary School meet state certification and qualification requirements.
