Good afternoon, families,

Below you will find the Virtual Snow Day information links for the 2025–2026 school year. As we enter the winter season, we want to ensure all families understand how Virtual Snow Days will work, what students can expect, and how attendance will be recorded.

This year, we have made some adjustments so that learning on Virtual Snow Days is more consistent and easier for students and families to navigate. Below is an overview of what you can expect.

Two Virtual Snow Day Models This Year
☃️ Option 1: Virtual Snow Day - This type of day will be utilized on a normal basis for both ice and snow storms.

📌 Before January 19
Grades K–5:
• Students will complete pre-recorded lessons in ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies.
• Assignments will be posted in Google Classroom (grades 3–6) or ClassKick (grades K–2).
• Live teacher office hours (optional depending on subject) will be available from 9:30–12:00.
• No live instruction will take place (no 30 minute morning sessions and no 30 minute afternoon sessions).

Grades 6–12:
• Model remains the same as last year.
• Teachers will post pre-recorded content and assignments.
• Live office hours (optional depending on subject) will be available from 9:30–12:00.

📌 After January 19 (Grades 3-12 will start to use Nearpod as a tool to deliver content and assignments)
Grades 3–12:
• Teachers will create a Nearpod lesson for each class/prep.
• Nearpod lessons will include a teacher-created video and interactive activities connected to the recorded lesson.
• Lessons are designed so students can access everything in one place.

Grades K–2:
• Continue with pre-recorded lessons and connected assignments.
• Live teacher office hours (optional depending on subject) will be available from 9:30–12:00.
• No live instruction will take place (no 30 minute morning sessions and no 30 minute afternoon sessions).

❄️ Option 2: Virtual Professional Snow Days - This type of day may be utilized for significant snow storms as needed.
The School Board has also approved up to three Virtual Professional Snow Days for staff. These days allow teachers to participate in online trainings and meetings when weather conditions prevent an in-person workday. During these days, students will be off! These days will be only be called when there are significant snowfalls to allow for opportunities for traditional snow days for students. These days are not guarantees but will be utilized when the conditions present themselves.

We appreciate your cooperation and support as we continue improving our Virtual Snow Day model. Our goal is to provide a learning experience that is clear, consistent, and flexible for all students.

Unfortunately, due to the current conditions of our secondary roads and the potential for the next storm to hit at dismissal time, we will be moving to a virtual snow day. All transportation – non-public and off-campus is canceled. All after school activities are canceled. Thank you and have a great day!
